The Beginning Again/ Highland Baptist Church Presentation

Yes, a presentation in May 2010 at Highland Baptist Church has led to yet another mission to Cambodia and the Philippines.  Seems ages since we have been in Cambodia, but it has only been 3 and 1/2 years.  Why so long because the Lord runs this program and this seems to be His schedule.  Of course He dictated it by allowing myself, Gary Stites, to visit Cleveland Clinic in July of 09 for most of the month.  An aortic dissection, which 40 percent die immediatley and the others at a rate of 1 to 3 percent per hour, leaves me quite a success story.  But then again the Lord stills performs miracles, so since I had more work to do for Him, it is not really surprising that He did not take me home before allowing me to finish my commanded task.  He did not really tell me to do everything, He just asked me to tell you what He wanted and you are now being solicited……not by me, by the way.

The first two weeks of December, myself and Travis Franz were able to participate in a huge successful medical mission to Cambodia.  We stopped in the Philippines to check on friends and missions there in progress, and then to Phomn Penh.  We covered many miles while in Cambodia and helped two doctors, one we brought from Manila, and a pharmacist, two nurses, and a support team, to distribute over 5000 dollars in medicine.  The nurses and pharmacist accompanied Pastor Len Crow from Urillia, Ontario.  I might add this same pastor, a friend for several years, drove 10 hours one way last year to pray with me, when I failed for a week to come off of the life support system which I was connected.  I had made it through the operation, even though odds were high against me, but failed to come off  the support system.  Pastor Len teaches me what faith is all about.  He also proves to me reguarly how to succeed with prayer.  After a week and only after his prayers did I move forward to the health I enjoy now.  Good enough to spend two weeks in third world conditions with no after effects.  Thank you Lord for so much.  And thank you Lord for giving me and my family the confidence of eternal life, that John writes about in 1st John 5:13.  That confidence alone should be every Christian,s reason for wanting to spread the Gospel.  Travis and I enjoyed that opportunity.

Much more will be written about this trip as we complete the transcripts and budget reports.  But for now we must get back to work here to support our next goal.  We do desire to send 1500 dollars to a hospital in Prey Veng that can hardly feed its patients.  They need more medical supplies also.  Maybe you want to help. We welcome all who are touched by the Lord to be appart of this ministry.  Thank you in advance, and watch for our full report of this mission.
