Mission Trip 2 / Cambodia via Philippines
This is my new brother in Christ….He would have shot me, but now we have eternity together….Amen
Buddy shows us how to lay brick. Later in the day it reached 107 degrees, but we kept going…wonder how?????
Buddy and I are enjoying a snack in the Philippines.
The Lord furthered my resolve as He showed my friend Buddy Brown and I what He could do with us, if we showed interest. Buddy has been a friend for many years here in Ohio, so it was a natural for us to team up again and travel to the Philippines and Cambodia together. We were both left in awe as we saw person after person come to except Jesus during our trip.
Buddy and I are not preachers, but we are open about our faith. Having been both to the Philippines and Cambodia, as well as Vietnam and Thailand the previous year many of my friends in ministry there know I am eager to share my faith. They often ask me to speak at their church services, and even seem to find new ones at which, I can share my love for our savior. This trip was a highlight for Buddy and I as the Lord blessed us with many people accepting Jesus during our trip. In the Philippines, I actually was able to speak at four different services on one Sunday. That is not amazing, but the fact that people at every service had their life changed as only Christ can do, is an awsome experience. Buddy, although openly candid about his reluctance to speak to a crowd, found himself used by the Lord, in showing his believe in our Savior. Yes, Jesus used us both on this trip, and I am sure it was for the purpose of leading His loved ones to Himself, but also for encouraging us to not lose faith and to aim for the mark. That mark for me is to complete a mission in the Prey Veng Province area of Cambodia. My next trip confirmed that for me and now I need your help. If you feel His call please contact me. I need your prayers, financial support if you are able, and over all incouragement to continue His Mission. Thank you for considering this mission as your assignment too.
Buddy and I were blessed with a great trip in my MIssion 2, as we started with the Philippines, visiting many people, and attending many services. We then went to Cambodia where we were blessed with the opportunity to help Pastor Len Crowe from Urillia, Ontario and Pastor Edgard Lanigan from the Philippines start a new mission there. It was just the beginning as the walls were being laid and the concrete poured for what will be a 100 child children’s home and school. The North Country Church of Urillia (Pastor Len’s Church) is the primary sponsor, but they need help from all who are called too. These are the greatest people, I know, so I hope you will also consider them in your prayers and support choices. The Lord has a real team of faith there and they are also an inspiration to Buddy and I.
Pastor Landingan knows, I have a heart for the Vietnamese, because I served with them in the Vietnam War in 1966 and 67. He asked me to speak at one of his outreach churches because he knew there were Vietnamese there. I was elated to have the opportunity, and did so with vigor. Only the Lord has something very special planned that day. One of the people in the congregation where I preached as Pastor Lanigan calls it; I do not call myself a preacher, just a speaker, he says I am a preacher. I am flattered, but think I am just a speaker who believes in Jesus and appreciates the gift He has given us. Yes, and I will speak to anyone who will listen about the gift I recieved about 15 years ago, from our Savior, which I will enjoy forever. Just ask.
As it turned out one of the men in the audience, had been a Viet Cong in the war. Later he told me, if he saw me during the war he would have shot me. That was his way of making sure I knew he was on the enemy side to me. After I spoke, which must have touched him deeply, we spoke to each other for sometime. When I chose to put my arm around him and welcome him as a brother of the Lord, I believe the Lord did something, way beyond my capability. His wife also knew and on several occasions before I left, she thanked me for coming. She was extremely appreciative, but I hope she knew who really was there for her and her husband. I really believe, she did know. As a matter of fact a few days later, I had the occasion to speak at another church, where the orphanage is being built. Again I was able to speak to my new Viet Cong friend and his wife. Yes, they came to hear me again. They probably walked or rode bicycles. It was several miles from their home. I hope you can feel God’s power at work here.
One morning when Buddy and I were working at the new orphanage, laying block in 100 degee temperature, Pastor Landingan asked if I would speak to the workers. He said they always take a morning break for about ten minutes (it is very hot) and I could give them an inspirational message. Well about an hour later, Buddy took pictures of over a dozen men raising their hand to accept Jesus. Brothers and sisters, I did not do that. He has however, asked me to work there. Please help me to bring more Cambodians and Vietnamese to HIm. Please consider supporting this ministry for even a short time, so we can get started. Only the Lord knows how long we have. By the way, Pastor Landingan did not mind, that I took so long. He actually said do it everyday.
Several of those men returned to church with their families, and are now attending regularly. Isn’t the Lord great?
Thank you for the opportunity Lord to share your work and for the gift and friendship of a great friend you game me in Buddy Brown. Mission Trip 2 was beyond our expectations.

Buddy found out he could speak to a crowd when it was for our Boss. Only the Lord’s work can be so rewarding. Buddy in Cambodia at the new mission and orphanage.
Yes, I do get excited about speaking for the Lord too. The first week in the Philippines.
